First time at Soma? We’ve got you!
-
What should I know before class?
We want your class experience to be smooth and welcoming!
Arriving: Please aim to arrive a few minutes early to settle in. A brief grace period is offered in rare cases, but punctuality helps everyone.
Parking & Access: Free parking is available, and our space is designed to support all bodies comfortably.
Cancellations & Waitlists: Cancel early if you can’t make it so someone on the waitlist can join. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee. Waitlists are managed automatically.
Studio Etiquette:
Shoes off: Soma is a shoes-off studio-please leave your shoes at the door.
Soft voices: Please try to speak softly, as clinic appointments may be happening in the space during the day.
Class Etiquette:
Mindful movement & consideration: Phones on silent and awareness of your surroundings help keep the space welcoming for everyone.
Questions or special needs? Just ask - we’re here to support you.

Can I drop in or do I need a membership?
Both options are available! You can drop in for a single class or sign up for a membership. Our hot room holds up to 30 people, and waitlists move quickly. All classes can be booked easily through the Soma Movement Studio app, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Or visit the ‘Bookings’ page on our website to get started!

What do I bring with me?
Come as you are, ready to move and breathe. We suggest:
Clothing: Breathable, flexible layers that allow ease of movement.
Water: Bring a bottle - filtered water is available for refills.
Yoga Mat & Towels: Bring your own, or rent one of our mats and sweat towels if needed.
Our space is prepared so you can focus on your practice, honour your body, and move at your own pace.
-
What is the temperature of the hot room?
Our regular hot classes are set to 90°F, while reduced-heat classes are set to 75°F. Both are designed to support your body, your breath, and your practice in a comfortable, safe way. Hydrate well before and after class!
-
What props are available to use in class?
We have a wide variety of props to support your practice and make each pose comfortable and accessible. These include cork and foam blocks, straps, towels, bolsters, yoga chairs, and some Pilates equipment like ankle weights, balls, and bands. Feel free to use whatever helps you feel stable, supported, and connected in your practice.

Do I need to be flexible or experienced to take a class at Soma?
Not at all. Our classes are designed to meet you exactly where you are, and our instructors provide modifications for all levels. Whether you’re brand new or well-seasoned, just come as you are knowing you’re welcomed and safely supported here.
